If the business is legit then you might not have to pay taxes? You can try to get your organization sponsored in exchange for advertising on your site if you have decent traffic. Although I wouldn't get my hopes up as I yet to see senior discounts and sort offered on colocation services. You might have better luck if it was a charity cause. I would most likely email them directly and see about my options. Maybe others will have something more to add. Good luck with your search.
I'm looking for 1u co-location with something in the neighborhood of 5mbps bandwidth. It's for an incorporated 501(c)(6) non-profit organization dedicated to providing free services to internet users.
Are there any hosts that offer discounted colo for incorporated non-profits? If not, go ahead and quote me anyway.
I hate to ask, but whats the point of specifically incorporating a non-profit organization with the intent of giving away services that cost money to produce (and are non-essential in regards to society in general)?
Try contacting companies that you are interested in and ask them if they will work something out with you, some will, some won't. It's not something most would advertise. But hey, it never hurts to ask, right?
