So I signed up for Unit Hosting's $5 a month package on 6/22 and they do automatic billing. I never received a welcome email from them so I emailed them to cancel my account and went on to find another hosting solution. No biggie, right?
Well they're not responding to me and I've gotten billed for another month. How do I stop the billing? It's billed through ShareIt.com and my credit card.
I'm not sure what to do here, so if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. Thanks!
I just called ShareIt.com at 800 903 4152 and they were very friendly and efficient. They gave me a refund for both months charged and cancelled the monthly billing. They said they'll work with Unit Hosting to get it all worked out.
Well if the poster could provide proof that he emailed them to cancel then that would change the situation.
I had a situation happen with a software merchant. They had a money back guarantee, but they wouldn't give me my money back. I complained to the payment processor, and the refund was processed promptly.
I'm sure it wasn't simply the original poster contacting shareit, and shareit processing a refund without asking any questions.
Actually, yes, I told ShareIt over the phone what had happened and they promptly discontinued the monthly payments. Then I asked them for advice on getting a refund from unit hosting (I've been emailing 5 different email addresses there over and over and no one is emailing me back) and they just gave it to me instead. The whole process took about 3 minutes and though I provided some information they didn't really quiz me about anything.
I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that it was only $10 -- they did say something like "oh it's only $10 total? well we can refund that and work it out with them later."
