I have just updated a server of mine from RH9 to CentOS 3.5. No real problems so far, except that when I try to do a yum update (using the $releaserver variable in yum.conf), it seems to still think the OS version number is 9. As such, it tries to get files from the /centos/9/ directory on the mirror, which of course fails.
Can somebody tell me where yum gets the $releaserver variable from, and how I can reset it from 9 to 3.5?
Sorry for digging up an old thread, but was hoping you could let me know what you did to fix this issue?
I have one server that was upgraded from fedora to centos without any problems, other than when it tries to do a yum update it looks for the wrong version number (or releasever), as you have experienced.
