Question Any Texas Hold'em Players here?

    Any Poker Holdem players here?

I've really gotten into Texas Holdem lately. Aside with playing with my buddies, I've been playing a lot at PacificPoker.com (free money for now) and doing pretty good.

Started with $1000 and my bank is over $60K. I do really good at Pot Limit Holdem. NoLimit is still iffy. I win quite a few tournaments here and there.

Anyways, care to share your tips/experience Holdem players?

    Few of my tips

    - I've learned Pocket anything can lose very easily.

    - Don't go all-in pre-flop on pocket A or K; especially if there are 5-10 people playing. chances are you will win but there is a good chance you will lose

    - Best hand doesn't mean a thing.

    - Call depending on the raise and your hand. Assume your opponent has the best hand.

    - Don't bet to catch cards. Bet because you have them.

I have many more 'tips' that have worked for me. Hopefully there are some Holdem players here; maybe even pros's that would like to share.

Edit: The other day I played in a tournament with a Vitto10. Wonder if that's the Vito here? He lost

Hey sid, I'll join you over at PacificPoker. I've played at several online places, but with free money, it's really different that REAL poker.

When you go all in with free money, chances are someone will call you. If you are playing with REAL money, that changes a lot. So I'm not sure your tips would suit well for a real poker game.

You make a VERY good point. Free vs Real $$$.

I don't know from experience so I cannot say but I would think it would be quite similar.

Yes, people are less likely to go all in and make stupid bets / raisers / calls but those are the ones eliminated the first few hands; at least from what I see.

    Anyways, sid007z @ PacificPoker. In a tournament.

    Winning. Will keep WHT updated

Edit: PS: If you want, when I'm out join me at a table but I might not be on too much longer.

    I play pokerstars.com

Play for money on pokerstars.com and IRL

(Cash Games With friends, of course)

    Pockets DO help a lot,

I never played limit hold'em i play no limit, so when you get pockets you raise quite a bit, and a lot of peolpe fold preflop, but of course it depends on what pockets you have.

    Hands I play -
    FACE CARD / anything
    ACE / anything
    10 9
    and suited, and connected cards

    everything else i fold

Again, it has to do with real/fake money.

They really don't care when people play in the same tournaments with fake money. With real money, they expect that people want to win, and no cheating will be going on (people losing on purpose).

I had a couple buddies join the same table @ PacificPoker and couldn't b/c IP's matched. So they 'borrowed' someone else's WiFi network in our neighborhood (unsecured) and joined.

Now, this was free money. What about real money. Knowing even 1 players hand is cheating. does this happen a lot?
