I am trying to buy two SCSIs. One is SCSI-3 Ultra Wide 16 bit. The other one is Fibre Cable. I heard Fibre Cable requirea extra hardware and software. I am not sure if those extra is used for high speed so without the extra, I can use Fibre Cable just like regular SCSI3
Do you mean Fiber Channel? That's not SCSI, but whole other beast.
Yes, Fiber Channel. It is called Fiber Channel Inface, under the SCSI drive on sale on ebay. I did some research and I was told that Fiber Channel is the new interface for SCSI for faster transfer rate.
I have not bought my server yet, so I never saw any SCSI before. I heard there are 80 pin 68 pin, but I have no idea how they look like or if I can mix them together. The servers I try to bid is Dual PIII made after 1999.
