I recetly pulled all of my site from Bitstream hosting after only 5 months of my 1 year contract. There was no customer service and their servers are very unstable. Outages are common with their servers (at least once a month). Also some of my clients virtual hosting accounts got lump together with their porn servers (IP address), thus none of my client's site showed up on search engines.

Emails were another issue. There are times I would get emails 3-4 days after it has been sent.

Overall, my advice is take your money elsewhere. Just do a google search for bitstream hosting sucks and you will see what I mean.

"Overall, my advice is take your money elsewhere"

    That is good advice!
I was with Bitstream for well over a year, including the purchase
    by the current owner.
Do a search on Bitstream & BELIEVE most of the bad reviews you see.
When things started falling apart, I kept 1 domain on the plan just for laughs.
    It was incredible.
imho this company should be avoided.
Rather than go through everything that has already been said...
Personal real experience here. Facts. Avoid them.
There are too many other good choices to even think about using this company.
Many times negative posts about a hosting company need to be taken into consideration cautiously. Sometimes the user is at fault & the company gets blamed.
    Not this time.

Yeah, it doesn't look like Bitstream has got a lot of love from these forums after I looked through a quick search of "bitstream".

    This one
mentions bitstream and the owner (sharkman) of it apparently has had his account disabled here at WHT.

    Welcome to WHT, new members!

I check up on sharkman's companies from time to time. While there are signs of improvement at FNET, they are sloooow in coming, the other companies (like Bitstream) seem to still be rudderless. There is even some positive feedback about FNET on their forums for a change:

Unfortunately, it is clear from sharkman's (sharon) post in that thread that he still hasn't taken the time to read the WHT rules:

Participants may not solicit any external source to post on this forum regarding their company, services, or products; or any company, services, or products they are or may be associated with.
Perhaps that's enlightening as to why his account is disabled? Failure to follow forum rules would be the #1 reason for bannings in general.
