Question Windows Media on a Linux Server???

I switched to a linux webhost and my Windows Media asx files don't work anymore! Windows Media will stream if I link straight to the wmv or wma file, but I can't do any playlists. It opens asx, wvx, and wax extentions as HTML files.

The only thing I can think to do is post my playlists on a Windows server and have them link back.

Can anyone help? If so, I have a new hero!

Assuming that webhost's www server is Apache, you could tell him to add the needed mime types.

    video/x-ms-asx asf asx
    video/x-ms-wmv wmv
    video/x-ms-wvx wvx
    video/x-ms-wm wm
    video/x-msvideo avi

into mime.types (the location of that file depends on distro - in most cases it is /etc or /etc/httpd/conf).

Everyone...I have a new hero, his name is Zoldar...even sounds like a hero.

Thanks man. Since I have cPanel, I was able to add the mime types myself in 2 minutes. You ROCK!
