What was the first 8 Track and LP you purchased?

My first 8 track was Linda Ronstadt. Late 1970s, IIRC (1977-78 or so?)

My first LP was Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here". Likewise, late 70's, but before I got my first 8 Track. After that, the next one was The Wall.

    Never owned one personally.

I haven't even had a cassette tape in the house in years.

I wish I could remember what the first CD that I purchased was.

    Yikes! Memories!

First LP : Not sure, but I guess it was a Beatles album. Either that or an Elvis album. Simply way too many years ago to know for sure.

    First 8 track : This one I know for sure - Led-Zeppelin.

    Good list so far.

Bat Out of Hell was great... but I love anything Jim Steinman is involved with.

Billy Joel, yup. Love his older stuff.

Charlie Daniels band had some great stuff.

Beatles and Elvis, not much of a fan. But Led Zeppelin; good stuff.

8 tracks and LP's who can remember that far back?

You're going to confuse the kids, bet the search terms, 8 track and LP just went up on google.

    OK
LP Rolling Stones Let it Bleed
8 track not sure.. had a ton of them though. Still have a few in boxes somewhere along with an 8 track player that still works.

I'm younger, but I still buy LP's. I think my first one was The Doors (it was some collection type deal, had all the essentials).

Never had an 8 track growing up.

My first LP was Get Down Tonight by KC and the Sunshine Band

I also had the single Dance, Dance, Dance by Chic around the same time.

I hope I never run for political office with those credentials.

No 8-tracks but I do remember riding in my brothers car with all the 8-tracks taking more room then the passengers!

First LP I purchased myself was the Scorpions Black Out sometime in 1982. And I still have that LP!

8-tracks were before my time, but my parents had some Eagles 8-tracks. LP's were also pretty close to being before my time, but I think my older sister had a Queen record. I recall buying cassette tapes and CD's, but I couldn't imagine what they were.

If it counts, my '67 Camaro has an original 8-track and I'll probably grab some Doors 8-tracks at some antique shop. Whatever it ends up being, it will be my first 8-track. :-)

Now this brings back memories. I've had a cassette player for over 10 years way way back. My first cassette was Duran Duran. I still have it, but don't listen it anymore. I have mp3s of all the tracks on it.
