Does anybody know of a free Linux distribution that will work with old iMacs (333Mhz PowerPC Chip, 32/64MB RAM, 4-6GB HD)? I can get my hands on one, but don't know if I can use it for anything (No, I'm not converting it into a fish tank - I have found instructions for that, though).
It is possible to find some answers in http://www.distrowatch.com although it's not very obvious how to do this.
On the upper right part of the page, click on "Search". (This is in a column that includes Search, Major Distributions, Submit Distribution, and Statistics.)
Clicking on Search should take you to http://distrowatch.com/search.php In the lower part of the page is Search by Distribution Criteria. Go to Architecture and select PowerPC. Click on the Refresh button. This should give you search results for distros that are Mac compatible.
