Drac II
I have a dell poweredge server with a DRAC II card in it (If you dont know what that is you wont be of any help =P). My server is running 2003 Enterprise edtion. Does anyone know of any sites with drivers for it or have the openmanagement CD that can send me the drivers? I have searched and cant find them. I also have problems with it on Linux, Does anyone have knowlege of this topic? Thanks!

Just get your Dell tag # and go on to the downloads section at Dell Support, it will have all the openmanage software and all the drivers you need.
I wish all my traffic went through AS174.

Should be located somewhere on the chassis. If not, go to Dell's site and detect the service tag. It won't work the first time because it has to install the ActiveX control, but once it's loaded, go to it again, and it should detect your service tag.

Dell's site is very easy to use. But since it's not obvious enough, on the main page, go to "Customer Service and Support" and then go to "Downloads". You should be able to find your poweredge model from there, and get the drivers you need.

Tons of people use DRAC's with Linux, I'd say it's fairly common ... and yes the drivers are on the Dell site.

Hi,
I've not used a DRAC II card on Linux before but I have many machines with DRAC III and Linux runs fine (FreeBSD isn't supported though :/) so I can't imagine it'd be any different with DRAC II. Try calling Dell, they're usually quite good at answering questions (if you can understand their accents over the phone ) and their web site should be able to provide you with the information you need also.
Hope you get your problems sorted out, good luck.

I was looking for the proper drivers and ran into these:
http://support.dell.com/support/down...1&fileid=25102
Its a Dell Poweredge 2300 (oldie =/) with a DRAC II, The OS is CentOS 3.4. What do you think about these drivers?

I just have a quick question. this box is mostly at a home location and used for small file storage. They one have one IP and I would need to assign the DRAC a lan ip (192.168.x.x). does the card have an external port I can forward to the internal address or am I going to have problems?

Or, you could resolve the dependencies....
Dell also has comprehensive forums for support, and there is always Google.

You should probably contact Dell support. They know much more about their products than random people here do. Or just do some looking around, the product documentation IS online. Don't be afraid to spend more than 5 minutes on Dell's site, otherwise you will never understand server administration if you have to ask every time you have any question. Not trying to be hard on you, but it's much easier to learn that way...

Dell's site is a wealth of knowledge. I've configured many, many Dell servers and have used their sites countless times, also with their desktops and notebooks. You should check out their own support forums, they are quite useful as well.
