Weapons found outside a Long Island commuter train
Gilbert Hernandez, 34, was arrested during Thursday evening's rush hour at the Brentwood Long Island Rail Road station, where the police presence had been beefed up.
Suffolk County police, who stopped the driver after noticing something suspicious about his van, allegedly found a machete, imitation handguns, an electronic stun gun and chukka sticks in the vehicle. They said Hernandez had been convicted of possessing a pipe bomb in 1996.
Oooh, the ACLU has to be furious! All this stuff to try to thwart a terrorist attack that may or may not be set to happen could accidentally reduce many individually less spectacular crimes. It's just not sporting of the police to do that!
It look like NYer are going to have to get to the train 1 hour earlier. I support that because no one else should have to die at the hand of terrorist.
It would be much faster if we get the camera that can nude people when people walk through the machine. That is much cheaper and better than searching people. I don't support that camera for privacy right. But again, if it help to speed thing up...I say we should go with it.
