Question Need your opinions for a new reseller on VPS

    Hi there!

For a new reseller like me, I currently host 4 sites on my 10gb/150gb VPS from PowerVPS. That costs me $44.50 itself.

I am not a sysadmin and thinking of hiring one. But just that getting one sysadmin would cost at least $30 monthly. Adding to the basic would sum up $74.50.

Say, each of my customer is paying $10/month, right now I would receive $40 ($40-$74.50). I am making loss of $34.50 each month.

I know this happens to most of us starting out, but I just need to know how you guys would cope this effectively, perhaps, without much losses. Or recommending any sysadmin who costs lower may help.

Sharing of your views, methods and ways of coping this would be appreciated.

Where have you got such quote? Getting *THE* *SYSADMIN* would cost you something like 100-200 times more!

Learning how to administrate a system from the command line, and getting more clients seems the logical way forward for yourself.

If you are in this business and don't have $$, then you definitely have to know what's going on there in your box.

    HI,

As you say you have only 4-5 clients why you need a VPs for that? As also you say you dont have much of $$.

I perfer you should become a reseller instead. Anyone will give you resellership @$10/mo for 1GB.

Now you will ask you will not be able to create the resellers under you right?.

--No even if you are a reseller some compaines allow you to create the resellers under you.

You will have all rights like VPs just not a root access but you will save a lot and once you are firm you can move to Vps or dedicated servers.

Correct me if iam wrong some where......

Why not go with LiquidWeb VPS at 50$/mo (via current offer posted to WHT)? Their plans includes full managed support.

Agreed. Liquid web or Steadfast networks. Steadfast's Bronze plan would probably suit you a little better, since it is cheaper and should handle your VPS's with ease. Plus, steadfast now offers Interworx am I'm tempted to try it.

PowerVPS also offers near-full management. Just check here: http://powervps.com/support.php
