    Intel® Centrino vs Pentium® M Processor

    Hi guys,

    just right now, my 4 yr old IBM T-22 died, I think MB is fried up!

    I am thinking of buying one later in day today. I see there are 2 brands of intel processor based laptops, one is centrino, and other is M (for mobile??).

    What is the difference? Which one is better?

    Here's an article that should clear up all your questions: http://www4.tomshardware.com/mobile/20040309/index.html

    Basically, the Celeron-M is the Pentium-M with less cache, and no SpeedStep capability.

    I should go sleep, just noticed you wrote centrino and not celeron-m.

    To make it really short.

    Centrino = Pentium-M + Intel 855 chipset + Intel 802.11b,

    Yea, people tend to mistake the Centrino as another line of intel processors. I personally feel the way they market it is a bit misleading also.
