Trouble with rdate
Logged in as root:
[[email protected] /]# rdate -s time.nist.gov
rdate: Operation not permitted: could not set system time
Also if I try to issue a date command, I get the same type message. I am logged in as root and this is on a VPS (virtuozzo)
Total guess here: the VPS does not allow you to set system time?
I remember from another thread you were with PowerVPS; I'd contact their support to make sure their time is correct.
You cannot change the actual time on the Virtuozzo VE, but you can change the time zone to reflect your needs inside the VE.
We have time sync on the hw nodes, if it has drifted, please submit a ticket with your IP and let us know so we can verify.
That is what I was thinking. Thanks for the answers. The time is accurate, but was just wondering if I needed to set up a cronjob to keep it that way. Guess not!
