    * Wake Me Up!

    Whats your favourite energy drink?

People seem to think Coffee is a Programmers best friend? Or has the modern world change that to Red Bull?

Personally I don't drink anything to wake me up. My dad was in the military and I guess I was sort of "trained" to get up and be ready when he said so, no questions asked.

Because of this, when the alarm goes off, I'm up and awake within a couple of minutes. In fact if I drink anything with caffeine to early, it tears my stomach up. I guess I'm just special..... ;-)

There isnt a decent Energy Drink in the UK. RedBull costs way to much for a small can! Red Roaster is cheaper, but tastes like ****!

Monster for me, though I don't drink it very much anymore. A case of monster is $28 (for 24), and each can is 16 oz., much bigger than Red Bull, et. al.

    10 Part Grapefruit Juice
    10 Part Lobelia Tea
    1 part caffeine powder.

Actually, it's more like 75% gf juice, 25% lobelia tea, a pinch of caffeine powder.

Not a big coffee fan, Red Bull does the trick for me...a bit expensive though for such small can.

"I don't drink anything" for that purpose and I've never tried any of the relatively new energy drinks on the market.

Nothing energy-related seems to work with me. I have taken pro-plus before now and it had absolutely no effect on me whatsoever. So the answer for me is none of the above.

i'm not sure if it has anything to do with caffeine or not, but i like my tea. English Breakfast to be exact. Iced tea is good too.

My first drink of the day is a sort of oolong tea with lots of fiber in it.

But when I am programming, I consume mass amounts of coffee.

Let me clarify that when I said that anything with coffee seems to work with me, I didn't mean that I drink it every day, or even often, but that when I'm really exhausted for some reason, I'll drink anything with caffeine. On almost every occasion, however, I drink absolutely nothing, aside from water.

Green Tea for me, or, water.

It also helps when I listen to "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by George Michael every morning.

Yeah, I don't really drink anything either. After a few minutes you just start waking up on your own.

I don't believe in being woken up by chemicals, but that's just me. Your body really does have a natural clock and it follows it pretty well. It wakes you up when it "decides" to (whatever that means), and even if you aren't awake within ten minutes like you are with chemicals, after you are fully aware and alert, it's naturally, not by the force of some potent chemicals.

A glass of orange juice in the morning is good for me
    David

  32. #32
I've never had a drink that has had an effect on me. I can drink anything right before I go to bed and it has no impact on me as to how quickly I fall asleep..... I prefer orange juice in the morning though, not because it wakes me up, but because it tastes yummy. Orange juice is by far my favorite drink that I've ever had. I can drink it every day and it still has the same kick that it always has.

When I am home, I drink regular tea. When I am in my dorm, I drink milk.

If I have the option - espresso.

If I'm at home, it's usually a glass of orange juice and a standard 'instant' coffee. I'm thinking of buying an espresso machine though
