For a week or some I have been looking for someone on various websites to install a few programs on a Linux box.
I basically have one dedicated server that I want the following installed on:
-postfix/Cyrus mail server
-Open source Spam protection software
-Freeradius for dialup auth
-Freeside for billing
-Rt built into freeside for support
Then configure and make all these programs work together. It doesn't seem like it is too hard of a task, you are installing a few programs, and linking them together. They all have the functionally built in to link with each other. Freeside automatically can create account in rt, freeradius, and the mail servers.
Am I asking for to hard of a task? It seems like a fairly easy job for an experienced admin? I am looking to pay about 200-300 dollars for all of this. Perhaps someone has another solution, or product I can use?
I am looking for someone either in the USA, UK, or Canada. I am tired of being burned by overseas programmers.
RADIUS is something that not too many admins on here will have experience with. I really doubt anyone on the board has significant experience with dialup administration; it's been dead (at least here) for the past 3 years at least. While RADIUS is indeed used elsewhere, this is a web hosting forum, and I suspect that in that business it's rarely necessary. You're looking for a specialized skill that people around here aren't terribly likely to have.
That said, I'd be willing to give it a try at my normal hourly rate, but I've not used RADIUS or Freeside before, so I'd give no guarantees of success.
I bill at $30 US/hour, in quarter-hour blocks with a minimum of a half-hour per job. Most of my experience is outlined at http://www.gotroot.ca/ . I have about 6 years of experience with various Linux and BSD distributions and most of the server software one would run on them. I did work at a dialup ISP that used RADIUS, and had some access to the machines there, but not in an administrative capacity -- though I do understand the system and what it's used for.
I'm in southwestern Canada, near Vancouver, on PST.
Hi. I 've worked with freeradius. Actually, now it is providing in my network AAA for VPN clients (they are connecting via PPTP). I played a lot with it, configured PPPoE, and dial-up (there was 1 modem, just for testing.. but it worked). I didn't use freeside, but configuring such thing will not be a problem for me.
I have a question - who will setup & configure NAS ? Because for this physical access is needed (i mean connecting cables, setting up remote access to NAS, etc..). If its already done, then, if you want, you can contact me so we can discuss payment and terms (I expect to complete this work in 3-5 days).
And, I'm located in south-eastern region of Europe.
