how may sites are you hosting on a VPS?

I fully understand it depends on what kind of sites are. I want to know how many sites you are hosting on your VPS? whatever you are a reseller, or end user.

Also please list your VPS specifications. Thanks.

    AMD Dual Opteron Server
    512 Ram
    40 GB storage
    350 GB storage
    4 ip's

I know she's going to have to move as soon as she starts getting serious with new image uploads so I'll have to move her to a dedicated box.

We host 3 sites that generate around 500 to 800 hits per min depending to time of day and if we running a promotion on our services.

    Edit add specs

    Defender / PowerVPS
    Dual AMD Opteron 250
    256MB ram / Burst to 1gb
    4IP
    Fedora 2

I have about 10 on mine, although only 5 of them generate a good amount of traffic.

Is it time to upgrade with that many sites?

Depends. Do you need to upgrade? If those 120 fairly small and non-resource intensive sites aren't causing trouble, then nope, doesn't sound like it is time to upgrade yet.

Depends on how things are working. What's the avg load? In the VZ Power Panel you can check out how many CPUUnits you're using. Are sites generally loading up fast (dynamic sites)?

Well Im hosting only 4 sites on my PowerVPS Plan 1. Non of them are intensive. By the way I have seen people using VPS hosting as game server for Battlefield 2.

I did not know VPS is that powerful till I'd seen this thread. I initially intend to limit 18 sites (500mb each site) on each on my VPS box (10gb space). I need a revision..

i am not so sure, because I heard that if sites used too much cpu or sql, account will got suspended. that's why i do not host too much site at a single account.

What about sites that are mostly just Forum?
I have 4 customers that have active IPB forums.

Only one of them has approx 30-60 people at a time (with a one time max of 110 in jan), the others probably average 10-15

Would a VPS die under this load or handle it easily?

Should be okay, we have more users than at on at one time. Its possible if you correctly optimize PHP, mySQL, have proper php cache.
