This surprises anyone? Politicians hardly even try and sugar coat the fact anymore that they're all about big business, kick backs, and doing whatever lines their pockets. You don't need a poll to find that out...

That poll is like "do you believe politicians are honest"?

It's a loaded question, and of course most folks will vote no.

This poll certainly is a loaded question.
This poll did not apper on CNN.com, but rather on loudobbs.com.
Lou Dobbs is basically another Bill O'Rilley. He is baised in favor of the GOP and Republicans. He asks the question to his viewers and tells them to vote at loudobbs.com.

Our elected officials are working for the people who voted for them. Or potential voters.

The country only elects one person as a whole.
    And thats the President.

Each state elects their Senators and Members of the House of Representatives.

Additionally Representatives are elected on a more local level.

    For example:
California senators only care about Californians think about them. It doesn't matter to them if the residents of some other states don't approve of them, because those people can't vote for them(Or agianst them).

And the same goes for the Representatives, but since they are elected on more local level, they will only cater those people can vote for them.

This is the same for every state.
Californians can dissaprove of what Senators/Representatives in some other state might be doing, however they can not do anything about it.

And lets keep in mind that every state values things differently.

Lou Dobbs is nothing at all like Bill O'Reilly?
He is also not biased at all in favor of the Republicans.
I watch his show regularly and he is one of the most politically neutral reporters out there.

He constantly speaks out against government policies.
