    change default mysql coding

i am using utf-8 coding on my mysql server right now and it is giving me tons of errors like

File 'c:\mysql\share\charsets\?.conf' not found (Errcode: 2)
Character set '#33' is not a compiled character set and is not specified in the 'c:\mysql\share\charsets\Index' file

i would like to change the coding to cp1250.

    my server specs are:

    Windows, Apache 2.0.54, PHP 4.3.11, mySQL 4.1.12, phpMyAdmin 2.6.2, Perl 5.8.6, ZendOptimizer 2.5.10, and hmailserver 4.0b120

    Codepage 1250.. Cyrillic?

...pulling from the depths of the memory here.. hopefully I can help a bit..

You'll get that error if the charset you want to use isn't in the Index file, the two are related. Where did you install your MySQL DB? Is it installed under c:\mysql? Make sure c:\mysql\share\charsets exists. It seems that the charset files were in a different directory and had to be moved or something. This is one of those things you do once and then subsequently forget to make more room for football stats! ;-)
