Wonder whether I am just plain unlucky, had a neighbour he was doing some modding of his server's power directly in his rack. He shorted his rack and also one of my racks closest to him. What was worse that rack contain my dns, email and main servers. What would you do if you were me? Sue him?
Yeap I am also seriously considering this. I can't tell my clients that it is other people's rack that cause this. Ultimately the responsibility is still mine. But prob is from what I know I need to sue the datacenter, and the datacenter in turn sue that guy. That's my main hesitation.
First and foremost, it causes 3 hours of downtime, the reputation loss is great. Second, reason why you cant tell it is other's people's rack is simple, clients pay you to have a good web hosting, not to listen to all sorts of reasons, whether it is other people who cause the problem , the ultimate responsibilities lies with us.
Lastly why should I tell others that I have my own private datacenter when I am paying good money to rent premium datacenter space?
Seeservers, there arent many datacenters in Singapore, saying which basically makes it easy to identify the person, which I am trying to keep out of public view pending my decision on what to do.
