Please help a noob out on pricing


Hi I have searched the forums for similar info bu have not found any thing close
I am writing a quote for a non-profit in the northeast.
Here is a copy of what they are requesting.. how much should I charge for this

Planning
Work with Executive Director and Marketing Committee to decide:
Navigation tools
Color Scheme
Photography/imagery
E-fundraising options
Survey Capabilities
Define linkage requirements with other partner websites

Implementation
Define Phase In Approach
Designer will present new layout and graphical for the website
Request feedback and meet with Executive Director and Marketing Committee
Produce and test website
Define Server requirements
Launch the website


Website Plan
Revise and update current website
The website redesign and development will
included the following web pages/sections:
1. Home Page
a. Company address
b. Brief Mission & History
c. Directory of Contents
d. Vision/Tagline
2. About Us
a. Executive Director Page
b. Full Mission Statement
c. Goals
d. Board of Directors

You have some areas there that are a bit ambiguous. For instance, planning. That can be five minutes to create a checklist, or it can be hours or days of research. A lot depends on whether your dynamic functionality will be premade scripts or custom-written.

The list of pages means very little. Created properly, porting content into pages should be the least time consuming part of the project. Given what information you've posted, I'd say it would be perfectly reasonable to charge in the $6,000-8,000 range. That's really sort of arbitrary. A good discovery session or two would make the number clearer.

Yeah I think they are going to be very hands on and require a lot of attention. I would say 20-30 hours and the sample sites would be at least 4-5

If everything will take about 30 hours, then multiply 30 by the amount you expect to be paid per hour. There's your answer
