Unixshell
I just ordered their "The 32" plan to see how it is. I'm thinking of moving a site over there thats a bit too large for shared hosting. I diddnt see much on this company through searching, so does anyone current or previous customer have any feedback about them?

I've been a customer of theirs almost from the start. They have always been helpful, with fast responses to any tickets. Their servers were always fast and with very little downtime. When I first started with them, they had some teething problems with Xen (the VM software they use), but this seems to have been sorted out a couple of months ago, and everything has been plain sailing since.

Technically, their products are excellent. I like being able to re-image my VPS without having to ask someone to do it.
They do market their plans as unmanaged which is accurate because on the rare occassions I have had to submit tickets, response has been slow (three days on one occassion and only after submitting another ticket to chase the first).
I would say this is a good set-up to go for if you know your way around Unix but it's not for the beginner.

Be very wary of unixshell - the same people have abandoned their former customers under Tektonic brand, how long before unixshell customers get dumped for whatever they decide to call their third attempt?

Do NOT sign up with this company. Read the problems with Tektonic and Matt Ayres and you'll see what's going on.
You are putting yourself and your clients at risk with this company because they have no integrity whatsoever - and no matter what why would you want to wait until you are experiencing what hundreds of others are right this very minute on a company run by someone like Matt Ayres who is completely ignoring paying clients who are losing both their companies and their clients because Matt Ayres doesn't want to communicate.
If you sign up with this company, one thing I can absolutely guarantee you - you will eventually experience everything that the clients at Tektonic are currently experiencing because it has to to with the integrity of the PERSON - Matt Ayres.

If I were Matt I would have sold the company to someone else instead of watching the ship sink like that. At least he could have kept the flames to a minimum if he sold the company earlier on when he decided to focus on Unixshell.

That's really good news.
I just hope when you do need assistance or when you do encounter problems, the staff at UnixShell haven't moved on to their new, new startup company "UnixLemmings" - VPS hosting designed for hosters who want to leap off a tall cliff and take their customers with them.
