Inventing a new Filetype
Hi,
I won't say much about it yet, but I'm inventing a new file format for web pages because we're creating our own little programming language to integrate a few things in the new site we're developing.
What I need to know is what you guys think we should call the extension!
Please join in the poll and vote
**LAST OPTION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INDEX.RAZOR - IF MOD CAN CHANGE THAT WOULD BE GOOD**
Thanks,

It doesn't have one, not going to be selling it or anything, it's just some clever stuff we've written to add some extra features not available in PHP.

See where I am going with this.... Those all match the names of what they are rather than something just "made up" Give it a name like the rest, and it may just stick/become popular..Let Google know when your dead | Read More >>

I'll go a little more into detail, we're using various different systems for billing, ADSL management, etc. A lot of which are all programmed differently, some have API's available, others are just web based.
We've written a little system to combine all of these, and this will be integrated into our website. PHP is processed first and then passed back for our special code to be parsed.
It's not actually something that we ever plan on making public, considering it really is something completely bespoke and will be of very little use to anyone else.█ Dan Kitchen | Technical Director | Razorblue

.rps is catchy. I wouldn't go with anything longer than three letters. I like .razor, but I couldn't see myself typing 5 letters for each file...

Sounds to me like you just are pretty much using PHP and just want a "cool factor"
If so, be honest. And using two languages and passing code back and forth doesn't really constitute a "new filetype"... It is more of a "new parsing method"
As far as what sounds better, rps does, if you want that "WOW" factor.Dan Sheppard ~ Freelance whatever
