Another vote for http://hyperspin.com . We have been using it for a long time now and saw nothing less than a great service, many features, and at very affordable prices.

fortress saw this thread MUCH sooner than I did, or I would have said 100% the same.

For up-to-the-minute checking, you cannot beat host-tracker's free service. I've built my own to do a little more, but it's essentially the same thing, just re-written....the way I wanted it personally.

They're dead-on accurate though. The statistics come in handy all the time when a host promises uptime and doesn't deliver. Then I have something to show.

Yeah, their own site is slow, but I'm more concerned about the emails I get, which typically aren't. I rarely login to their site unless adding a new tracker.

Yeah their emails are not slow. Pretty Reliable.

But, Uppanel is also fast about emails.

For the record, UpPanel says this...

Each free account may monitor 5 services (hosts).
    HT there is no limit.

Yeah but, those 5 service cover nearly everything.

I monitor Ping, HTTP, POP3, SMTP & FTP with it. I think thats enough.

    Yeah...for one website

I use the service to monitor every server I have...one site per server.

Which is why I just upgraded to their premium service, to test out.

I thought you could add more than Hostnames & 5 services per Hostname.

    Doesn't look that way.
"Each free account may monitor 5 services (hosts)."

Maybe I am interpreting this incorrectly?

I think uppanel.com has a future I host them actually and I've talked with the guy who created it numerous times and he's always adding features. I think the only downfall right now is there is only monitoring from one location but I'm hoping to help them with that delema once the creator has a bit more time.

    I like siteuptime the most.

  36. #36
I'v always heard about these site uptime, are they reall 99.9%? or something like that?

  37. #37
I have been trying all of the usual uptime services looking for the perfect solution so here is my review of the ones I have seen so far:

I am looking for about 20 monitored ports at 5min intervals including http, https, smtp, pop3, imap, jabber. I also would like to see nice public reports, a maintenance window that is not counted as downtime, and defined contact hours so I don't get email paged to my cell phone at 4:00am.

siteuptime.com - $32/mo, limited public reporting, no maintenance window, no contact hours

alerta.com - $51/mo for 20min, met all requirements but is too expensive especially as we add more servers

host-tracker.com - free, only http port monitored

servermojo.com - beta, no custom ports, limited reporting, limited contact options (although they allow a number of IM services)

websitepulse.com - complicated price structure, expensive I think, lots of features including maintenance window and dependencies, no time based alerting

hyperspin.com - $32/mo for 5min, ($64 for 1min) but good feature list, maintenance window, alert scheduling, custom public report page, nice reports and logs

hyperspin is winning my vote so far, although it looks like they are planning a price increase on 7/15.

I actually considered creating my own monitoring service. I still may but hyperspin.com is closest to the feature set that I would include. I was about to give up until I saw a link to hyperspin here on WHT. thanks guys.

I tried uppanel a while ago, but after enormous amounts of false alarms I had to turn it off. Either thier network is really dodgy or they had/have a problem in thier code.

servermojo is good but they need better stats (monthly uptime for a one).
