    need help!

Yesterday, me and my band went into the studio and laid down a 4 track demo.
I tried to play the CD on my stereo and on Windows Media Player when I got back but it kept saying the format is not supported
It originally said the file type was an 'AAC Audio file' but then when I played it on Real Player(on which the tracks actually play) it suddenly changed to being a 'M4A file'.

Does anyone know how I can convert them to mp3 so i can play them on Windows Media and put them onto my iPod?

    Cheers.
