Problems Viewing My Webpage
Ok, I don't know if anyone has ever seen this before, but I've recently acquired webhosting services through Yahoo and registered the Domain Name through IX Webhosting so that I can create a website for my family.
Well right now I've established a simple "under construction" page, but I've found a problem with the domain or website, which, I'm not sure. My problem is the fact that some people are able to pull the website up like normal while others simply get "Page Cannot Be Displayed."
So I called Yahoo and they said it's not a problem on their end since they're able to pull up the website as well. They told me that it may have something to do with the cache in the user's browser or a firewall or pop-up blockers. But I've had a number of people try and none of these seem to be the reason.
Excuse for sounding a lot like a noob but I'm concerned if everyone can't view my webpage, especially my own family members. If anyone can tell me why this might be happening and if there is any way I can help it, please let me know.
If you wish to try the site for yourself, just click my homepage button below.
Thanks.

Hello Straeveras,
I can see your under construction page just fine. May I ask you when you made your DNS changes?
More then likely - the people who cannot see the site are cached - either at their PC or at their ISP level.
You can try this on their PC -
Open the dos prompt - and from the command line type:
ipconfig /flushdns
restart the PC and see if the problem persists.
Hope this helps..www.cartika.com

I agree with CartikaHosting.
How long ago was it setup (the domain)?

Well I don't believe it's the ISP level, since in my house we have three computers LANed together wirelessly and my PC is the only one that can view the website.
Transferring the DNS? Ermm..I believe, if I understand what your saying correctly we did that about two or three days ago. We registered for the actual domain name back on Sunday.
I'll ask one of my friends to try that with their cache, I'll get back to you on that.
Thanks.

Would you mind posting the domain? I'd be willing to do a quick peek...

Actually, I've got an update. I just had one of my friends attempt to view the page again. He said last night that we wasn't able to view it for some reason, but when he just tried again, it worked.
Could it be that time is all I need in some cases?

There are some serious issues here you may want to look further into...Yahoo! should assist as your host.

DNSreport.com will show you most things with a domain that are right or wrong. Red flags are needing to be fixed urgently.
There may be something on Yahoo!'s end that needs fixing...maybe. Ask em

Ok, so....I have red flags on the following:
Missing (stealth) nameservers
Stealth NS record leakage
SOA EXPIRE value
And I have yellow flags on the following:
SOA MNAME Check
Mail server host name in greeting
Acceptance of abuse address
SPF record
CNAME Lookup
Is there anything that I can do about these myself or do I need to contact Yahoo! about them, and if I do contact Yahoo!, what do I tell them to get it fixed?

It's entirely reasonable to assume that they may be DNS issues not correctly setup on Yahoo!'s end.
Have you spoken to them yet about the issues?
Anybody else have any feedback on the issue?

I called them twice last night and the only troubleshooting they did for me was to see if the browser's cache and cookies were interferring and if any firewalls or pop-up blockers may be interferring as well.
They attempted to pull the site up on several computers and I guess succeeded on all of them. So they say that it's not a problem on their end since they were able to pull the website up.
But now I think I'll call them in the morning about these issues, now that I have the DNS report.

Also, reasoning for it working inside their own network and not outside could also very much be DNS. One minor thing can ruin your day
