I have a rack with several servers, and I would like to buy one of those remote reboot power switches in order to reboot them myself when one freezes. Trouble is, there are so many different brands and prices that I think I'm in a little over my head.
Can someone suggest one that I can put on my rack? I don't necessarily need something real fancy - just something reliable that will do the job when I need it to. Thanks!
my suggestion would be either baytech or APC... we use both APC and Baytechs.... However... i dont recommend buying a PDU that has TOOOOOOO MANYYYYYYYY ports.... make sure that you are able to sustain that many servers per circuit.... we use 20A circuits and the electrical states that we can use only 16Amps on a 20Amp circuit. (80%) ... Thus, your power consumption depends on how powerfull your servers are.
good... we use the 8 port versions as well.... we have about 10 APCs 8ports and about 35-40 Baytech 8ports... I didnt want to put the numbers before so it wouldn't have changed your opinion as both work well and do the job.
