Also, the security violation you got is just that. It is not a bug.
Thank you for the good props.
As far as the updates go there will be updates at the users descrection in the update page area. Updates happen at a click of a mouse, if there are updates. The updates are all 100% confirmed and bug free so there will be no 'bleeding edge' or any of that. It will be final release updates.
One problem that cpanel has is maybe the way it is programmed such as in PERL. It mat be hard for them to confirm any bug fixes or what not. DigiPanel is entirely programmed in PHP and modular. It is VERY easy for me to make updates and corrections because each part/component is modular.
Anyhow, Digipanel has a lot of potential for growth. I do plan to add a MONTHLY payment option which should draw in more customers and therefore more presense on the web.
And again we are offering customers the ability to REQUEST features. If globlally viable we will develope ment and incorperate them into the final release of Digipanel.
I also plan to have an API for developers to write there own 'modules' very easily incorperating them into digipanel.
I know this panel is new and some say premature however its framework is VERY modular and easily maintainable.
And with a new company like ours we treat each customer like their were our first with full attention.
We even do basic admin work on the server DigiPanel is installed to if something breaks.
However, Digipanel is very stable.
And for the price it is the most or one of the most affordable panels out there.
>phpSYSinfo was not written by me it is a 3rd party php script.
the comment was you have on *your* page spelt VIA incorrectly :p
>Also, the security violation you got is just that. It is not a bug.
lets call it a quirk then, because going to the same URL in IE worked - it only errored in firefox
>The updates are all 100% confirmed and bug free so there will be no 'bleeding edge' or any of that.
>It will be final release updates.
you might at least want to have a couple of branches to the tree - emergency hotfixes which only filetr to stable after a while.
>And again we are offering customers the ability to REQUEST features.
this is a very good idea - one "mod" per licence, other mods chargeable concept works well, however if a "feature" would have global benefit , some people may still want it to be "unique" - part of their USP as it were ...
>And with a new company like ours we treat each customer like their were our first with full attention.
the only real stopping point may be that serious hosts, woudl want the source code in escrow or supplied as they're unlikely to want to build a business around (no offence meat) a very young and new company - afterall they'll be basising their business on the future of your product(s)
*NONE* of this is meant to put you off, I sincerely hope you succeed. The only reason we're not buying a copy for testing/evaluation is that we're happy with Plesk, CPanel and looking to work on our own custom CP shortly.
