Music
Does anyone know where you can download/purchase background music for your website? I dont mean things that annoy, just nice background tunes

*volunteers opinion*
Music slows down the loading of the site, and is annoying especially if you're watching TV or listening to music already. I always close sites with music on them.
Music in general annoys!
(google for some ambiant stuff)

www.flashkit.com has a lot of music on it, some of which is free outright.
I agree with Dan. Unless I'm on a site dedicated to music or a music artist, when someone else's music starts playing over mine, 95% of the time, the site loses - I go away and never come back.Studio1337___̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.__Web Design

Might I suggest creating a Flash controller instead? By doing this, you can completely customize the look of the player, make it any size, offer more music options and the audio compression offered through Flash is pretty darned good. This is one of those cases where Flash really shines through, and it doesn't force you to use old, proprietary markup to get it on the screen
Again FlashKit is a great place to look up tutorials that make creating Flash controls easy. If you don't have access to the software, well, I can't give you much more advice on this one. But if you do, I heartily recommend using it!Studio1337___̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.__Web Design
