I'm engaged!
Well, I can't say I've ever made a "look at me" post, but this is my time!
Friday afternoon I asked my girlfriend of 9 years (yeah yeah, I know) to marry me. After getting over the initial shock, she said yes! We then went out with some friends for dinner and drinks and ended the night with a fireworks show at the lake (Canada Day).
Unfortunately we were told her grandfather passed last night so this has brought us back to reality quickly, but I still wanted to take a moment and share this news with everyone!
Anyone else recently engaged? Anyone plan on doing it soon?
Regards.

Congratulations! Welcome to the beginning of the end!
Seems it was a bitter sweet weekend for you, though. My condolences for the passing of your fiancee's grandfather.

Congratulations Jeff. That's wonderful news
I started a similar thread last December after I got engaged, and my fiancee and I are getting married January, 06. It's a wonderful feeling, eh?Studio1337___̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.__Web Design

Thanks for the kind comments Vito! lol, you sound exactly like my father did when I told him. hahaha
As for her grandfather, it was definately his time to go. I'm glad (for her sake) that she had a chance to tell him the good news.

Hey Paul! Thanks so much for the kind comments.
I actually remember your thread now that you mention it!
January '06 eh! That must be approaching much quicker then expected. Are you guys done most of the plans, etc or is there still lots left to do?
PS. I still owe you a phone call... one of these days

Condolences, I mean congratulations Jeff.
I think after 9 years you probably have a pretty good idea that you are compatible.
Any pics of the lucky lady or are you going to hold out until the wedding photos?

You call whenever you have the time. Enjoy being engaged for now. Yeah, we're pretty much done with our planning. It's all about paying everyone from here on out. Oh, and we have to get our passports for our honeymoon
Have you set a date yet, or are you still getting over the initial shock of it all?Studio1337___̴ı̴̴̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡ ̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|̡̡̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̡̡ ̡͌l̡̡̡̡.__Web Design

Screw the calendar... I'm getting a "someday" tattoo!
It's good to hear you have your planning all completed. We're already starting to get our guest list completed as well as location ideas, etc.
We're currently thinking of October '06 but are willing to change it if the venue we want cannot be booked. It's all pretty much "ideas" at this point!
Thanks for the passport comment, I just wrote that down so we don't forget! hehehe
*still searching for a photo!*

Congratulations.
It must be a great feeling, good luck with the wedding plans. I think 9 years is quite a while and well done on you for having the courage to "pop the question", I hope its a fruitful relationship.
Its a shame the death of the grandfather coincided with this but its probably the best time.
I wish you all the best

Congrats Mekhu!
God 9 years and you're around my age also (I'm 23) I still have no candidates, maybe I should take some time off WHT to find that dream girl.

Congratulation!
Are you going to make wedding plans as soon as the funeral is out of the way and her family had time to grief?
You are getting married to your childhood sweetheart? That is awesome!

Hey, Jeff. How many WHT guest tables are you planning for at the reception?
