    Fixing a duplex problem

Hello, i would like to explain my situation and ask for some help...

. I have a 10mbs unlimited bw server. ATM the server is running at 3-5mbs all the time but is performing really really slow which im pretty sure it shouldnt.

After contacting my host and saying that it is possibly a duplex problem and easy to fix i was told to run the following commands...

    mii-tool -F 10baseT-FD
    and
ethtool -s eth0 speed 10 duplex full autoneg off

I am a server newbie and do not know how to run these. I manage my server with WHM. Can you guys tell me what to do to run these?

    Thanks very much in advance.

You need to run these commands from ssh shell prompt.

get a free ssh client like 'PuTTy' and connect using it to your server using root login.

Be sure you're actually maxing out the server as well.

When you're measuring speeds at the higher end, you're reporting tool could also be a bit awry as well.

Even still, the duplex correction is a great recommendation.
