Setting up SMTP on W2k3 for outgoing mail only
I'm running W2k3 server and want to provide the capability to send out mail from web apps (such as dasBlog) using localhost as the smtp server.
Unfortunately, my ISP is blocking port 25. How do I set up my server to avoid this situation?
Is there a way that I can set up my server so that any new mail gets pushed to my ISP's SMTP server to appear as if it was sent from there?
Setup MS SMTP, change the default port from Port 25 to Port 26 or say 2025.
For ISP's SMTP , it depends on how your ISP is setup, some allow relays from their own IP range but some require authentication.
