In the next year, Clark will try to answer this question: If computer scientists could design the Internet from scratch, would they do anything differently? Clark's answer today is this: Make it secure. "I don't want to have a sudden meltdown [or] blackout or have the Internet used as a vector for a widespread terrorist attack," he said.
I would like to see them try that. I grant you it may not work...why because people have a way of getting around stuff. People are sneaky...!
What is their plan? To have each computer register when they access the internet.
What is their plan? To have people to register their real name and address for the domain name...and to do police check in real life to make sure the name and address are real.
What is their plan? To cut out all domain names...except important one like the USA rule.
What is their plan? To limit our access time.

Instead of designing an internet from scratch to make it secure, why not work on making this internet secure?
I can't wait to see how the new internet work. I hope we will be given a chance to choose between the new and old internet. You already know which one I would choose.

There's nothing fundamentally wrong with it ... but if it can be improved, and there are definite areas in which it can, then it should at least be given some consideration.

And to answer all of your "What is their plan" questions - they don't yet have a plan. That is the entire point of conducting the research.

I'm skeptical of an internet built from scratch being better. The pornography gangs already buy a lot of influence. The technical issues per se are less of an obstacle to correction than the purchased influence. Start over and they'll probably purchase even more opportunities for abuse.

Change and improvement is always good and should be accepted and enjoyed. I'm glad scientists are being diverse and keeping an open-mind about the potential future of the internet and the way in which it tunnels the services it offers.

    New internet old problems.

Its folly to think the new system will be flawless.
I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!
