New FTP accounts aren't adding.

I'm running Centos v3.5 with Cpanel / WHM updated to the latest edge build.

Whenever any of the accounts on the server try to add another ftp account it says its created it but then doesnt show up on the FTP Account Maintenance screen... the only thing that shows up is the quota usage bar if a quota was set..

What can cause this to happen? The new ftp accounts cant be logged into either....

I tried updating cpanel to the latest build (from current to edge) hoping to fix it to no avail. Rebooted the server... yada yada.

any help would be gr8.

Try this:

/scripts/updatenow
/scripts/upcp --force

Try to Synchronize FTP Passwords also in WHM.

Do this:

cd /etc/proftpd
pico username (change it to the missing username of ftp account)
ctrl+o enter
ctrl+x

then go to WHM and click Synchronize FTP Passwords.

You can try to switch to pure-ftpd too if you are using proftpd.

I prefer pure-ftpd than proftpd.

Try reinstalling the FTP server. You can do this from WHM at FTP configuration.

1. First switch your FTP server to proftpd and then back to Pureftpd.

Also check whether you have a file in /etc/proftpd with the ftp username
which you created from the control panel. "net" have mentioned this in the previous posts.
