Old machine compile times
Lets do a little benchmarking.
I'm currently playing with smp support in netbsd 2 on the sparc platform. As a test I do a simple cli+mysql php compile as follows:
The machine in question is a axil 320 (sparc20 clone) with quad ross 100mhz cpus, 512MB ram, and 36GB disk space.
./configure --prefix=/tmp/php --with-mysql --enable-cli
The build that just finished took 24 minutes. Next (tomorrow) I'm going to switch disks and do the same build under solaris 9 with gmake and gcc. Solaris should beat netbsd on this machine with it's far more refined smp code.
So, does anyone with some older hardware want to do a identical build and post their results and machine specs here?
