I have a web application built with PHP and MySQL and I am trying to find solid web application testing software to use for it. The only things I can find so far don't seem very powerful. Any ideas from anyone who has used a testing suite in the past for php/mysql?
Get the Zend Suite... It has some options to install a local test server.. Where you could test your files on your machine locally and then upload.. Thats the only thing I can think of... Or test them on your site.. I would say just test them locally.. Majority of the applications will need php / mysql installed on your machine though..
I actually use Zend Studio and it is much like Visual Studio in that respect. What else would I need?
Just to clarify, I'm not looking to test the syntax of php or anything like that. I want to essentially test inputs to forms, verify database values, etc. within the web application. I'm not sure if the Zend Suite can accomplish this. I have found a few PHPUnit testers that seem to work well on paper but I haven't used them yet.
I havent tried to test anything on my local machine.. But I would say you would need php, mysql, and apache on your local machine to test them locally.. The only way I acn think of to actually test the inputs to a form is to actually run the script..
