    ProFTPD on Debian: FTP Straight to /var/www

    Well, I have ProFTPD installed on Debian ( with Apache 2.0.54.

    Apache's www directory is /var/www. However, I don't know how to make an FTP account that will go straight to /var/www, instead of

    I have no idea what to do.

    Could I change Apache's root directory to /home/user? I don't know how to do this, since this was a custom packaged .deb. They customized the hell out of it.

    You can change your document root of apache by editing httpd.conf file.
    vi httpd.conf
    DocumentRoot /home/user

    Hi Chatmasta,

    You can also set the home dir in Proftpd using:

    DefaultRoot /var/www/


    DefaultRoot ~/

    To jail the user into their home directroy.
