So what type of Radio show...I might want to listen. As far as hosting, look for one with a lot of bandwidth andalso search the hosting review sites since most have a search option to allow this in their search paramaters.
Good luck and let us know who you pick and give a review.

Would suggest you do some searching a bit on the shared hosting offers section. I also suggest you look into a streaming media host who offers dedicated bandwidth (i.e. you get a max of x amount of listeners and have say 90KBps of bandwidth, roughly 291.6GB transfer to do with as you please, e.g. you can control your own bitrate then).
Just some ideas for you sagel. Good luck with whomever you choose.

http://www.thekidsarebored.com/radio/
is the site of the show i do. it's a mix of mostly unreleased electronic music.
i have all the previous shows recorded but no space currently to create an archive, so you'll have just have to tune in next week.
anyway, thanks for the responses. i'll start digging. anyone have experience with any specific provider?
thanks,
corey

Hi Corey,
Be sure to check out a few different hosts. It is best to specify your needs clearly when contacting hosts. If you know what you are talking about it is easier to discuss different pricing options and it will allow the host to provide a more accurate quotation.
Good luck! Streaming music is a lot of fun and very simple once you get into it!

Hi sagel,
I would suggest you take a look at http://Screaminghost.com I've been using them to stream (using shoutcast) live U2 at http://U2radio.net for almost a year.
Screaming's fees are decent.
Good luck.

I'm in the USA. The Screaminghost servers are in the EV1 datacenter in Texas. So I've not noticed any connection problems.

if your shows arent live, and you are not concerned that listeners would be able to save and copy your audio easier than real streaming, just go for any reliable host. http streaming does not do much difference these days as people have very good internet connections in most countries, and will be able to listen the audio while it is being downloaded, identical to streaming in that respect.

but i want live streaming. or at least the option of doing live shows. most of my sites, standard shared hosting, are already offering tons of downloads.

then you have no choice but standard streaming.
nullsoft's streaming technologies seems good, you might be looking for a host that offers shoutcast.
also real network's new ra format is very good for streaming videos, real small in size and good in quality. you might also check for a host that implemented newest codec of theirs and serving its services.

Yes, they are pretty much the best in the business, but they do cost a considerable bit more then others (its possibly worth it for the level of service however).

Some days ago I decided to buy a shoutcast hosting plan
with screaminghost.com
The features that sold me were:
- Good price
- Good statistics
- Unbranded statistics
- Accept credit cards not only paypal
- Can provide a dedicated IP
- Can create a reverse dns for your domain on the dedicated IP
However I wrote them a message yesterday and havenīt received a reply yet. I have also tried to place an order in their web, but the order form is broke. So I am thinking of either look for another hosting company or trying to contact some of their customers for learning about them and give them a second chance.
Well such is the purpose of this post...
Is there something new happening at screaminghost.com lately?
