If you've compiled php from source, yes, you have to recompile php from scratch. If you're using rpms, there's probably an rpm out there somewhere.
The best response is always to simply compile php and http from complete scratch and go from there.

it's obviously fixed... However, in the future most applications usually haven an option of using the compiled php curl or a CLI based curl. If recompiling php is too much of a pain for you, just switch to CLI
