I want to find an emulator for the old Apple II Oregon Trail. I was the master of that game.

I also kicked *** at Dino Park Tycoon.

    I remember that game!

They made the same version for Windows, I probably still have it somewhere.

I liked Transport Tycoon Deluxe - that was good
I have many DOS games running well, but with one problem - in some I don't have sound. Most of them used Sound Blaster, but now most of computers equiped by AC97 codec. Maybe there is emulator for SB?

That shipped with my first PC, an old Acer 72Mhz Windows 95 machine (which probably dates a lot of you guys). I never really got past the first level or two if I remember correctly.

Back in high school we dropped winquake in a public network drive (using a username/password we stole from some freshman so we wouldn't get caught). Was tons of fun. Teachers never knew a thing.

You can get the game at http://www.classicgaming.com/rotw/otrail.shtml , and the AppleWin emulator at http://www.the-underdogs.org/nonpc.php#a4 - You need to install the emulator in a directory where there are no spaces in the file path (i.e. must be like C:\programs\applewin, and not C:\program files\applewin), at least for XP pro.

I had that game on my Seanix 75Mhz with a whopping 7 megs of RAM, and the 1GB hard drive seemed like I'd never be able to fill it! It also came with a blazingly fast 4x CD-ROM and 28.8k Modem. Combo with monitor and printer came a bit above $4000.

Too bad it doesn't come with Gorillas.bas. That used to come bundled with DOS 5.0. My attempts to copy it to run in DOS under Windows 95 or higher always malfunctioned.

The best way to play your favourite arcade games (from gaming machines) is with MAME Emulator. It is simple and very interesting. And, what is the most important, it is almost FREE.

First, you should download MAME Emulator ( www.mame.net or http://mame32fx.altervista.org ). Useful addresses for Mame ROMs are www.romnation.net, www.mameworld.net, www.rom-world.com, www.retrogames.com, www.zophar.net, etc.

    You'll really enjoy.

  21. I dont think we have the 1GB drive in the 75mhz days.
Even during the Pentium Pro 200 Mhz days, 500 MB drives are luxury items.

My old laptop had a 486DX75 and 770MB HD. My 486SX50 desktop computer came with 240MB HD, but I upgraded it about a year later to 1 GB HD (also 12 MB RAM and a Pentium63 overdrive CPU).
