What is recommended to make your website more active. Do purchasing targeted visitors have any impact? How do you go about exchanging links? Would ferocious banner advertising do the trick? Post up your secrets, tricks and thoughts!
As far as I know (based on what other people have said) purchasing targetted visitors from one of those "10000 targetted visitors for $3" services isn't exactly the way if you plan to sell hosting. Apparently it can work for other things (like getting members for a forum), but not for selling hosting.
Also, you won't get any secrets out of anyone here (they're your competition), but you might get a few general tips.
Your site says "Over 210,000+ Web Sites" are hosted by your web hosting service. I'm sure you don't need any more traffic than you already have if you host that much .

I think for getting targeted traffic, reciprocal links is far better, as it let your web site visitors return to your site, and you'll get targeted traffic from clicks of your links on other web sites too.

Targeted/Untargeted traffic does not usually work for webhosting. If you are going to go that route, make a special page for the visitors to see offering them a nice deal.
If you really want the best ROI and are just starting out, local business is one of the keys. I have recieved quite a bit of business off of just the local racing teams around here. I have been around racing a long time and one day I got the idea to hand out flyers in the pits. I got quite a few e-mails and phone calls just from $25 worth of flyers.
"WebLink is a multi-million dollar corporation built on a backbone of security, reliability, customer support and value. Hosting over 270,000 websites makes WebLink one of the largest web hosting businesses in the world. Located in the heart of Buffalo where an estimated 10 billion dollars in sales are processed every year."
Well that definatley makes it a little better, as you can tell I've been up wayy to long and I'm waiting for my week to be over so I can post another advertisement. I'd edit my other post, but I think it's much more comical to leave it like this.
