I'm thinking about starting a web services that provide design, maintenance, and marketing of customers websites. It's not gonna be easy but I wonder how would you market (tools and techniques) a customer's website so it get noticed around the web? Please, if you want share your experience on what I should do and shouldn't, thanks!!!
Research your market.
Identify the target customers/target market.
Design your site with good contents.
Publish some good articles.
Make your web site presence.
Focus on local market first.
Look for cost effective advertisement.
Adopt marketing techniques to increase your market share.
Yes demo is very useful to the clients especially to the newcomers, However mostly clients are well expert and competent themselves. A good articles and some knowledge based support with update information is also useful to clients.

Yea there are so many ways you can advertise, but if you want to do you better have good graphics and content to advertise about. You also never want to feel bad about putting a banner up, especially one that you don't like!
