well mysql 3.23.28 is much better optimised and reduces the mysql load on a server especially for vbulletin etc.. so i really want to optimise server load for my raq3 as much as possible - after all it's only a AMD K6 300 hehe

Egads. I didn't mean that you shouldn't consider upgrading major things like SQL servers on your machine. There's no sense having mySQL 1.3.4 still there when they've improved the code since then.

What I meant is apply the Cobalt patches with caution. Not lately, but what can happen is that you apply o patch that screws up some custom (if you want to call it that) installation you've done.

For example, one of the patches (updates) killed the POP-Auth (I had to upgrade a few things to get that working again).

Been running 3.23.29a without any problem. I can't really compare between 3.22 and 3.23 because when I had 3.22 the site wasn't open to the public.

Just like you, I didn't know that you're also a Luna Partner, hehe

yeah, we're the only two for the particular About.com category too

i might as well try 3.23.30 since 3.23.x are meant to be alot faster and server friendly than 3.22.x versions.
