Hi,

Yes I should be getting propper legal advice, and I most probably will but I realise some of you on here know legal stuff.

My question is,

Is it Legal to host music recorded/filmed at a concert. Pictures included. The 'material' would be recorded by the person who posts it on the forum.

I have tried googling, only to find diferent answers on diferent websites, and I'm finding websites the offer the music for free. Which is what the site would be doing if I found out the legality of the 'service'

It's not legal unless the poster has permission (written) from the concert promoter and/or artist.

I'm not really sure what the case is with just pictures, so I'll defer to a lawyer on that one. However, if the promoter did something like restrict pictures at the event by placing a warning on the ticket, then I think you could have some trouble.

y dont u jst contact the author or the conerned person and get a permission and post it for free..??
hope none will disagree when he/she is going to get wide publicity..

100 % correct, since the problems of priacy has arisen the publisher might have some restrictions on it.

so it is better to ask the author purmission.

In india we donot have such problems coz most of the songs are released on the net for free for publicity and the only concern is on the video piracy
