Here's a warning to current and former CalHost customers! It appears that the buyout of CalHost by Steadfastnetworks is falling apart and that CalHost lacks the financial ability to keep the business afloat.
Dear CalHost Clients:
As of now I am attempting to cancel the sale of CalHost because of liabilities that were not previously disclosed to me by the previous owner and other inaccurate financial information.
Due to these debts, CalHost will likely have their Internet connection terminated tomorrow afternoon, around 5:00PM. It seems Adam was not going to tell you of this, but I felt it was my responsibility to warn you, allowing you time to move your data/services to another provider.
I am sorry this turned out the way it did. Steadfast Networks is still looking at opening a California location in the near future and we still offer dedicated servers out of Chicago. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
For what it's worth, I received a second e-mail stating that talks were still on, but no guarantees are being made. In addition, it appears that due to poor record keeping on the part of CalHost, former customers like myself are receiving e-mail from Steadfastnetworks claiming a balance is due.
Originally posted by KarlZimmer I would just like to state that as of now it no longer appears that Steadfast Networks will be purchasing CalHost.
This thread is being reported to the moderators. You have pretended to be the owner of CalHost and violated nearly every privacy law that exists that protects my customers. Federal Law protects customer data and the priovacy thereof and you have exploited it for personal gain.
CalHost is privately funded and we are [b]NOT[b] going to go down tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or next month. I find it unimaginably irresponsible for transition prospects to break their NDA and discuss private confidential matters with the public and to further communicate falsehoods to my clients.
Steadfast was interested in purchasing CalHost and has opted not to. That is all.
In light of the contracts you have signed, I it is encumbant upon you to show more professionalism and review your contracts in the future. You are not the owner of CalHost, you never WERE the owner of CalHost, you are not authorized to contact my clients for any reason. I fail to see how you are in any way authorized to make these sorts of comments and BASELESS allegations - falsely sending communications on behalf of CalHost no less! It shows a gross diregard of your contractual obligations - not to mention California law. You just violated virtually every Federal privacy law that exists. Be aware that if deemed appropriate you will be reported to the authorities. I may not have all the money in the world to pursue this to the extent you deserve, but what you did was so incredibly WRONG, I'm am utterly dumbfounded.
[b]Word to all who read this: Please disregard this rumor. It has no value and it is unfortunate that shackrat was misled into believing anything other than the truth.

Please explain to me what part of your contract and NDA specified in ANY respect that you are free to contact MY customers using THEIR private email addresses to gain sales for YOURSELF?
On second thought, don't answer that. You should probably opt to pull your head out of your buttocks and email your justification to me personally since any further blip from your mouth about your contract details in public will be further violation of your NDA and added to the growing amount of evidence we already have in pursuing prosecution.
What authorizes ANY company to take client data from another company under questionable pretenses and use it to steal business away?
Good God I can't believe who this guy thinks he is.
We were very far into the process, money was sent, almost all the i's were dotted and you told me I should contact the customers notifying them of the change, that I would be billing them, etc. To the best of their knowledge those customers were mine and I was doing my best to notify them of the situation.
If they are not going down tomorrow, then why is your data center saying that would be the case unless I paid your outstanding invoices?
The fact here is, you lied to me to get me to sign a sales contract. I asked specifically if there were any other liabilities, you stated no, and then a couple days later contact me about an amount owed to your data center. The revenue numbers were also incorrect.
Note: I did not break the NDA as none of the information I was given is bound by the NDA as it does not meet either of the conditions presented, with it either being tangible and being marked confidential or by being orally told that the information was confidential. it also does not fall under the category of the proprietary information definition provided in the NDA.
OK, honestly, do you want me to post proof? I have an email from you and your data center stating that if payment is not received the connection will be terminated. I have an email stating that I should invoice the customers and send them notification of change in ownership...
Really trying to switch it up here I see... I entered the agreement trusting you, but you ruined that trust several times by providing inaccurate information. Now you are upset that I was trying to assist your customers.

I will not hash this out publicly any further. You not only violated your NDA but also exploited innocent customers private data and it seems you really truly do not care. Your communications were not normal course of business but underhanded and completely illegal.
