    disk usage

    hi,
    im wondering what the command is in linux to search for large files on a disk as i keep getting disk space warnings from cpanel saying that my / partition is 93% full

    For RedHat, I use 'du'

    du works, i ran it by accident in wrong folder tho lol so didnt show everything, also making an exclude file to exclude a few folders helps alot

    find / -size +10000k

    should do the trick as well, although du is a great command as well.

    thanks - just for some reference for other people these comands work wel

    cat >> exclude.txt << "EOF"
    home
    etc
    proc
    EOF

    then do du -X exclude.txt
