We're looking to be able to graph the bandwidth usage of processes such as SHOUTcast on a server. So for example, we would be running multiple SHOUTcast servers on one server. Each SHOUTcast would have its bandwidth usage graphed just like any switch port is graphed.
Does anyone know if this is possible and could anyone provide any tips and hints as to doing something like this?
IPTables is an exellent way to track bandwidth to and from specific ports and ip addresses, although you need a script like ipac-ng to make it usefull. ipac-ng should be able to track port specific bandwidth: http://ipac-ng.sourceforge.net/ Although if you want a real solution I would work on a custom script, I did this for my vps machines and its much more flexible then a premade solution.
