Thread: T1 Emulator?

    T1 Emulator?

Anyone know of a device on the market that will emulate a T1 connection? Analog phone line to T1 OR ethernet to T1. I want to do some testing with my RAS hardware and would like to emulate the T1 connection prior to ordering a T1 due to the costs.
I realize I would not have T1 speed, just the protocol....

    thanks...

A T1 CSU/DSU in loopback mode might do this. Don't know for sure really. A full-fledged DS1 multiplexer even used off eBay would be far more expensive than just purchasing a $300-$500 per month local loop.

I can't imagine what you'd accomplish by doing this though. Watch the interface line protocol go to up for fun? What kind of "testing" would you do exactly?

You'd be better served just ordering the circuit. It's generally not difficult to setup a T1 circuit.
