Payal -- Google Scenario

I just thought I would share an interesting article from a not-so-reputable source. I found it quite interesting, especially the idea of Google trying to take "Minimum casualities".
Anyway have a read...

I don't think they'll beat paypal so easly just by using the google name, if they provide something new maybe but I don't see how google will be superior to paypal, besides paypal will match their pricing if they start feeling the heat.

This is why I'm not using Google as much. They're expanding into far too many areas. It's rediculous.

Nope, sorry - I wouldn't use this service. Google wants you logged into their servers all the time, so they can track everything you do - very scary. They want to track your searches, your clicks, your purchases, your mail, it's too much. The privacy concerns are overwhelming.

Meh, I say go for it. I'd support Google over PayPal any day of the year.

Anyhow as per other thread - you can see most people have no problems with PayPal. It's only a small minority that have had problems and most likely only a small minority that are complaining about PayPal despite no problems.

I would like to think that they would bend the rules a bit for financial ventures such as this. In that, privacy (I would have thought) would but utmost on their PR agenda.

The reason google is so successful is because they innovate kind of like Apple. If they're going to go heads up with paypal then you know thay have a trick up their sleeve. Everything google touches has been pretty much successful. They are moving into many different areas, with success. Stockholders have enjoyed their 230% increase in google stock.

Google is not about to tarnish their name or reputation to compete with paypal, they'll do it right from the start with an excellent code base, and functions you'll probably never see in paypal at a price thats probably better. As of now, paypal is pretty much a silent partner in all of your paypal transactions. The fees/rates are absurd.

Privacy does concern me however I feel more comfortable with google having my information then a lot of other companies. I rather have it all with one trustworthy company then scattered amonst 20 unreliable companies.

Exactly. That is why I avoid putting in search words, which I used to do before I found out google will keep track of it.
I don't even think ebay will allow people to pay through google's service.

It'll be funny if google becomes the preferred method of payment on Ebay
