    Upgrading kernel.

Im planning on upgrading the kernel on my CentOS box, currently 2.4.21-27.0.2.EL.

    to the latest 2.4 kernel.

Ive done it before with redhat and slackware however i was just wondering if centos would cause any problems.

Tonight I tryed to update the kernel on my Centos box to 2.4.21-32.0.1.EL and it failed. The data center said they had a hard time to get the server to reboot they had to hook up the KVM over IP and select the old kernel. My server is running Raid 1 I dont know if that had anything to do with it.

No, generally when a upgrade fails, it will cause it to fail horribly and you will have to load the old one.

Read http://www.eth0.us/ to know how to upgrade to the latest 2.4 kernel.

It seems that their mysql are down, but try to access later as john wrote a good howto for it.
